6 Weeks Into The Season

Well were 6 weeks into the season and the boyz are doing great. We are sitting 3rd & 6th in the point battle with along way to go. This past weekends race was tough on everyone due to the track conditions. The wind had blown for 2 days straight like 25-35 mph and it's been dry. The track was dry and rough for the heat races but the boyz survived and finished in the top five to make the invert for the feature race. Jo Jo started 6th & Jordan started 7th, man nothing like having them start side by side. It's great for mon & dad's nerves every week, but like they say "That's Racing". At the start of the race Jordan & HJ Bunting tangled coming off of turn 4 with HJ getting the worst of the deal and retiring to the pits. At this point Jo Jo had moved into 3rd spot. On the restart he passed Stormin Norman Short for 2nd, but as they went into turn 1 Norman hit him in the left rear to give him a flat tire. Jo Jo's crew got the tire fixed and he came back out in last place. Jordan had worked his way into 4th and was following Short and Beau Wilkins. Beau pulled a great move to roll around the outside of Short coming off of 2. Coming down the back stretch Norman tried to put him in the wall but Beau held on to take 2nd. Now Jordan had to deal with Stormin Norman and what a battle it was. Norman would back her down way early coming into the corner to stack everyone up behind him, Jordan would get under him halfway through the corner but Norman would cut him off. Well this went on for 6 or 7 laps when Jordan finally had enough of being cutoff in the corner. They went into the 1st turn Jordan got under Norman and when Norman went to cut him off Jordan didn't back off this time. Contact was made with Norman getting sideways, Jordan passed him along with Dale Hawkins also getting by for 4th. At ht checker Jordan came home 3rd and Jo Jo fought hard to come home 11th. Hopefully the track will be better this week with the rain we are getting. Been a couple of weeks since I have posted sorry about that but things have been very busy with work, I will try to get back on my weekly schedule from now on. Thanks for everyone's support and please come see us at the race track.

Well Another Great Night At Delaware International Speedway

Well another great night at Delaware International Speedway for the boyz. In the heat race “Jumpin” Jo Jo raced to a hard 3rd place finish, the racing was fast & furious. His older brother did not have such a good run as he had to settle for a 7th place finish due to an ill handling race car. Well the feature lined up to be a Battle Royale as Jo Jo lined up 4th on the grid and his brother Jordan “The Iceman” Watson started in lucky 13th position.

At the drop of the green it was a mad dash into turn one. Man sometimes you wonder how in the heck they all make it through turn one without wrecking. As the race continues Jo Jo is holding in the top 5 as Jordan is making his charge from 13th. The only caution of the race came after the halfway point with Jamie Mills leading Beau Wilkins, Chad Clark, Brad Trice & Jo Jo Watson. Jordan had made it to 7th. As the race resumed what a Mad House ensued. Jo Jo and Jordan raced hard side by side for what seemed like forever- too close for Mom & Dad. Jordan finally passed  Jo Jo and set his sight ahead to Clark & Trice, These two guys were in a fierce  battle for 3rd running side by side for laps. Jordan was faster but had to pick his spot to pass them as he did the race was winding down. At the checker the race was won by Jamie Mills with Jordan 3rd and Jo Jo 7th. Man what a hard race all night long I really don’t know how these guys can race this close for so long without problems but it was great. Our motorman Jay Larkin was down from Paoli PA to watch and we would like to give a special thanks to him for his help in the motor department. Well that’s all for now see ya at the Races!

Wow What An Opening Night At Delaware International Speedway!

Well you can not ask for a better start for our season at Delaware International Speedway. Jordan "The Ice Man" Watson won and "Jump'in" Jo Jo Watson came home 7th after having his Uncle Jamie do a slide job on him on the last lap. The last 6 or 7 laps of the race were a real nail biter with Jordan running the high side and Kenny Brightbill running the low side. These two went at it tooth and nail but never touched dueling until the checker flag flew. We would like to thank Kenny for running a clean race, it was great to watch. Jo Jo had a great run going having gotten up to 5th before settling in for his 7th place finish.

We would like to thank all of our friends & fans that stopped down to congratulate us after the race. It was great to see all of the young boys on the crew enjoying the success that has come from all of their hard work. We would like to thank all of our sponsors & friends for all of their support and we look forward to sharing this season with them.

It seems now there is no spare time for the boys. They are in the shop every night working on their cars non-stop. The guys on the crew are down and it's great to see them working together so well. The boys are always joking around and carrying on about anything and everything. We hope that when they get older they can sit back and realize what a great time they have had with all of their friends and family. thats it for know we will keep everyone posted as we move along.

Time For Racing to Start

Well we are all back from Florida- what a cold and miserable trip. I know we missed the snow here but do you know what it feels like to sit at a race track at night when the wind is blowing and the temperatures are in the high 20's- low 30's hmmmm not real pleasant. Anyway we got to see some great dirt racing sprint cars, late models and the modifieds. My brother in-law had a good week, he finished 2nd & 6th out of the 3 races that the modifieds ran. Our boys decided they did not want to go and race due to the current state of the economy. They are waiting to start the season here in Delaware, and are really looking forward to it. Our motor man Jay Larkin is on board this year with helping to sponsor the boys motors for the year. He is really looking forward to the challange and the racing at Delaware International Speedway.
Jordan stayed home to work plowing snow during our Florida trip, I think the whole time we were gone he made it home for one night only between the 2 storms. Joseph has his car pretty munch ready to go. We have to have it lettered which will happen latter this week or the first of next week, and then the only thing left will be to install the motor. Jordan has to finish rebuilding the rear and fabricating the 2 door panels. Then he will be ready to have it lettered and have the motor installed. As always we are looking for sponsors to help our boys racing team for the upcoming season. If anyone knows of someone that would be interested please feel free to let us know. Sponsorship does not have to be a large amount, you can purchase a set of tires, a drum of racing fuel, pay for admission at the race track etc.Come join us at the race track and see what this young team is all about, you will enjoy yourself and hopefully pickup a new hobby.
